Domestic Violence Intervention Programs (DVIP)
In 2002, the NC Council for Women was granted the authority to approve the domestic violence intervention programs (DVIP) utilized by the North Carolina court system.
As of 2024, there are 33 DVIP programs operating in 59 NC counties. Forty-one counties are without a DVIP program.
Domestic violence intervention programs (DVIP) re-educate offenders about their behavior and helps them to develop new methods of interacting with intimate partners and family members to keep them safe.
