State Surplus Property

State Surplus sells all surplus supplies, materials and equipment owned by NC state agencies and universities. We provide a disposition audit trail and return maximum value for the state’s personal property. Funds from sales are returned to the state budget. You can buy some of this property and we are here to help! Sales are made through retail stores and online auctions.

The warehouse, retail store and vehicle lot at 6501 Chapel Hill Road operate 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m, Mondays through Fridays. Keys for viewing auction vehicles are not issued after 4 p.m. We are unable to process payments after 4:30 p.m.

State Surplus Retail Locations

The State Surplus Property Agency operates its retail store at 6501 Chapel Hill Rd, Raleigh, NC and has authorized the operation of off-site retail stores at several state universities for immediate cash sale, including: North Carolina State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina University, UNC-Wilmington, UNC-Pembroke, UNC-Charlotte.
