The License to Give Trust Fund Commission has announced the completion of its 20th grant cycle and has awarded a project grant of $287,000 to Donate Life North Carolina of Durham, NC.

“The grant will educate and encourage more North Carolinians statewide to register as organ donors through the NC Division of Motor Vehicles or online at DonateLifeNC.org,” said Commission Chairperson Lisa McCanna. “The ultimate goal of this organization is to save the lives of North Carolinians who are waiting for an organ, eye or tissue transplant.”

The project, entitled “Say Yes North Carolina,” is a collaborative, statewide outreach project designed to increase knowledge and awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation and increase the number of people joining the statewide donor registry.

Donate Life NC will work closely with statewide partners and specific community resources to increase donor designation rates across the state. The project will focus on education, awareness and advocacy, while aiming to have greater impact in low donor designation communities.

The License to Give Trust Fund Commission was established in 2004 by the North Carolina General Assembly and is a division of the North Carolina Department of Administration.
