All U.S. and North Carolina flags at state facilities are to remain at half staff through Saturday, December 11, 2021 in honor of former U.S. Senator Bob Dole, who passed away on Sunday. A member of the Republican Party, Dole represented Kansas in the U.S. Senate from 1969 to 1996.
As we pause to remember the life of former US Senator Bob Dole, today we also honor the more than 2,000 service members and civilians who died during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
