Prentice Hunt

Prentice Hunt serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the NC Department of Administration, and as such Hunt oversees the agency’s budget, purchasing, and all controller functions. Hunt serves as the liaison to the Office of State Budget and Management, the Office of the State Controller, and the Office of the State Auditor.

Hunt has nearly 30 years of public service dating back to 1995 when she began her career within North Carolina state government.  Prior to joining DOA in 1997, Hunt worked at the Department of Environmental Quality, then known as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. After a stint away from state government, Hunt rejoined DOA in 2005 and became the agency's Budget Manager in 2017. Hunt was honored with a Secretary's Award for Excellence in 2023 for teamwork.

Hunt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
